When
I told someone that my August 4 black lighting effort at
Ward Pound Ridge Reservation produced a Gallium
Sphinx (Hyles gallii), he
suggested that I make it an MOW. What, this little ole'
inconspicuous thing as an MOW? This species appears to
be the northern counterpart of one that I featured last
year, the White-lined Sphinx.
By the way, the same light brought in a Polyphemus Moth
and a Vesper Bluet, a new damselfly for the park (and
what a way to get it).
