In
this extremely dry spring, May 27 was finally a night
with enough humidity to black light. But that wasn't the
only light around. Usually, I'm pretty good at reading
weather radar. Something went wrong this time and I
found myself looking at lightning. Does that attract
moths, too? I'll just credit the black light for
producing this
Twin-spotted Sphinx (Smerinthus
jamaicensis), the first record at Jamica Bay
Wildlife Refuge since 2001. |
