Here's another New York MOW
that comes from outside of New York. But it was very
close -- at Sandy Hook, New Jersey. Kevin Keating found
it during the daytime July 12, nectaring on spotted
knapweed. It's a Titan
Sphinx (Aellopos titan).
Although its range is given by Covell as Maine to
Florida, it is considered uncommon to rare in the north.
And it shows that finding good moths does not have to be
night time endeavor.
