It's taken a while for me to
get around to this first MOW installment of the year. I
like to wait until the weather can ensure a steady
stream of moths. That's been tough so far. We may
have finally gotten rid of the cold, but the warmer days
have been exceptionally dry. A slight push of humidity
following a warm front April 28 brought a number of
interesting records to the walls of the Jamaica Bay
Visitor Center. Ironically, the one previous site record
of Wooly Gray (Lycia ypsilon) occurred on the Visitor Center April 28, 2001. |
