Once again I depart from the
norm of using moths whose ID I'm pretty sure of.
But of the recent crop of moths that I've encountered,
this is the one that's stirred the greatest amount of
interest for me. It appeared around a baited tree at
Floyd Bennet Field October 9, although I can't say that
it actually took to the bait. It looks like it best fits
the Condicini group of Noctuids, but it doesn't quite
match any of them to the point of comfort. Well, it'll
be something to work on as the field season soon blends
into desk work season. |
