Over the past month I've
returned to surveying Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge, while
continuing my work at Floyd Bennet Field. The latter has
provided many great records and species that have yet to
be found at the former. It would be expected that it be
more productive for grassland species. But the Refuge,
too, seems to have a monopoly on some species -- perhaps
those of a more woodland affinity; species that haven't
been found at Floyd. One example is Master's
Dart (Feltia
herilis). This one was photographed
August 30. |
