Here's one that I've run into on
several occasions, usually at points farther off than my
regular survey sites. Such was the case with this
individual, which was photographed in Litchfield County,
Connecticut July16. So the reason for its choice as MOW?
It's just a fine looking example of a
Mottled Prominent (Macrurocampa
marthesia), from the family Notodontidae.
And like many from that family will do, it arrived at my
blacklight while I was asleep, to be found in the
morning. |
