Another gap in putting up an
MOW. Still not a whole lot of good moth weather and I've
been busy taking and editing bird pictures. But that's
no excuse. My only recent outing was the season opener
for Jamaica Bay at Floyd Bennet Field. One entry for
that night was this Bent-winged
Owlet (Bleptina caradrinalis)
of the subfamily Hermiininae. The reason that brings
this species to MOW is that the May 5 date that this was
seen is 16 days earlier than my previous early date for
the species.
