This
frustrating spring continues to bring cool nights with
low humidity, not the kind that beg one to go out for
moths. With such a pattern, this seems to have
become the Moth of the Month page. Anyway, a brief
switch to warmer, southwest winds May 15 brought out a
few moths (and a lot of warblers) to Jamaica Bay,
including a new local record. This Mottled
Gray Carpet (Cladara limitaria) of the
Geomtrid subfamily Larentinae was found at Floyd Bennet
Field. |
