The Mulberry Wing
This is a Bicolored Woodgrain (Morrisonia evicta), of the Noctuid subfamily Hadeninae. It could also be fittingly called the Bimorphed Woodgrain, as it occurs in two forms. This is not the form for which the English named is based, but still a lovely early season Noctuid. This photograph was taken at Muttontown Preserve in Nassau county April 19.
