The last week has been unseasonably cold here in
the Northeast, offering no new candidates for MOW.
It’s a good time to reach back and use the one I had
planned the week that PC problems prevented me from
doing an update. This is a Salt Marsh Moth (Estigmene
acrea), of the tiger moth group. Despite its name
and the local environment, this species has rarely been
encountered around
Jamaica
Bay
. This encounter came on July 14 at Floyd Bennet Field. |
