The Mulberry Wing
Sometimes you know the MOW as soon as you see it. This is a species I haven’t seen before, so who knows when I’ll have a chance to use it again. It’s beautiful and it’s distinctive – a standout among the often similar looking dagger moths (Noctuidae, Acronictinae). It’s a Harris’ Three-Spot (Harrisimemma trisignata) and it was photographed August 3 at the James Ramsay Hunt Sanctuary in Westchester co.
