I
don't get a whole lot of action shots of moths. The one
in this picture was fluttering its wings and the camera
managed to capture a better moment than I could ever
hope for on a sedentary prominent (family Notodontidae).
This appears to be a Contracted Datana (Datana
contracta) and provided a new record for Muttontown
Preserve, where it was found July 30. |
