The Ennominae subfamily of Geometers is a large and
varied one. It contains many species that are gray. It
contains a couple of species that are big and carry
Beauty in their names. Then there are some real
beauties, such as this Lemon Plagodis (Plagodis
serinaria). This one was photographed at the
James Ramsay Hunt Sanctuary in Westchester on May 31. |
