A form of azure that was proposed at one point was
Edward's Azure, a "species" that flew in early
spring and whose larva fed on flowering dogwoods.
Fitting that bill, but clearly distinct is the Dogwood
Thyatirid (Euthyatira pudens),
a member of the small family Thyatiridae. This one
turned up at Muttontown Preserve April 15. |
