After finding a colony of Little Underwings at Floyd
Bennet Field last summer and finding out that honey
locust was the host, I did some research to find out
what other species use this host. It turns out that the
short list does include another underwing. I kept a
lookout the rest of the summer for it but I all I got
were The Little Wife, The Sweetheart, and Darling
Underwing (the usual suspects). Well, appearing this
year on August 9 (first at bait at the honey locust
grove), here is The Betrothed
(Catocala innubens). |
