(As
most of you know), many species of insects can be quite
local. When surveying for moths, there are a limited
number of places that you get to with black lights. That
can allow many species to slip through your net (so to
speak). So keeping your eyes open for other venues can
get you species that may or may not turn up at your
survey sites. A case in point is this Black-rimmed
Prominent (Pheosia
rimosa), which I found
June 5 at the Stormville (Dutchess county) rest area
along Interstate 84
