Another
group that reaches its peak in September is the Noctuid
subfamily Plusiinae. For the most part, that means lots
of Common, Soybean, and Celery Looper Moths. But there
are a lot more of them in the book, and it's nice once
in a while to get a reminder that they're possible.
This one is a Cabbage Looper Moth (Trichoplusia
ni). It was found at Floyd Bennet Field September
22, providing another new record for the Jamaica Bay
survey. |
