                      The
last week for me has been as much (or more) about the
camera as the moths. My trusty old Nikon Coolpix 950 was
unavailable for a while. In the meantime, I bought a
Canon Powershot A75 and a Nikon Coolpix 8700 (it's only
money -- I have to photograph moths). In this photo, the
8700 came through in a must situation -- a species that
I had not seen before. It's a Scalloped
                        Sack-bearer (Lacosoma chiridota), of
the small family Mimallonidae. The particulars are
Muttontown Preserve on June 16. |
