Gulf Fritillary  (Agraulis vanillae)

Range: Florida and Georgia, west to Texas and California. Also, south to Argentina and the West Indies. Irregular immigrant north to North Carolina, Missouri, and Kansas. Scattered records to New Jersey, Wisconsin, Michigan, North Dakota, and Manitoba.

Arthur Shapiro (The Butterflies and Skippers of New York State, 1971): "A very rare immigrant, reaching the state on the Coastal Plain at long intervals". Most likely other modern records, but no specific information available.
